Kelaniya Buddhist Temple:-It is believed that Kelaniya is the place from where King Vibeeshana ruled after being crowned by Lakshmana. As lord Rama was in exile for 14 years, could not take part in any coronation ceremony, deputed his younger brother Prince Lakshmana to crown Vibeeshana. Today in this very place a Buddhist Shrine and temple for king vibeeshana.

The Turtle Hatchery is the prime turtle nesting site which was open by the Wild life Protection Society in 1981.Visitors can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatchlings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2-4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness.

City tour NuwaraEliya: During the city tour in NuwaraEliya you will visit the main attractions of the town which include the golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park, and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. You can also visit a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world's finest Orange Pekoe tea. You can also add Seethe Eliya and Haggala Gardens. Seethe Eliya is a temple which was mentioned in the famous epic Ramayana. AshokaVatika
Location: SitaEliya-NuwaraEliya
This area is known as SeethaEliya, close to the resort city of NuwaraEliya (1950 meter above the sea level).
AshokaVatika was a garden in Lanka, the Kingdom of demon king, Ravana, as mentioned in the Vishnu Purana and Hindu epic.
It was the location, where Sita, the wife of Rama was held captive by Ravana, after her abduction, also because she refused to stay in Ravana's palace, and preferred to stay under the Ashoka tree, hence the name. It was here that Ravana's wife Mandodari came to meet her and also where Hanuman met her for the first time, and identified himself with the finger ring of Rama.
Sita stayed at Ashok Vatika, till the end of the epic battle between Rama and Ravana, which resulted in the destruction of Ravana himself and most of this clan. Much of the AshokaVatika was destroyed by Hanuman, when he first visited Lanka, searching for Sita. Also destroyed was the Pramda Van at the centre of the Ashok Vatika.
Sita Amman Temple
Location: SitaEliya- NuwaraEliya
The stream that runs from the hill, catered to the needs of Sitadevi during her stay at AshokaVatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is a temple erected for Lord Rama, Sitadevi, Luxshmana and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints akin to Lord Hamunams are found by this river -some small and some large.

First Visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple
Location: Thawalamtenne-Ramboda
It is believed that Lord Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi from these hills of Ramboda.
Note: Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka has built a temple with Lord Hanuman as the presiding deity on this hill. On every full moon day special poojas are conducted and witnessed by thousands of devotees. The status of Lord Hanuman here is carved out of granite and is 16 feet in height.
Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. SitaKotuwa
It is believed that the city of Lankapura once stood in these jungles. The city had a beautiful palace for queen Mandothari surrounded by waterfalls, streams and varieties of flora and fauna. Sitadevi was kept in this palace until she was moved to AshokaVatika. SitaKotuwa means Sita’s fort and got its name because of Sita Devi’s stay here
Gurulupotha
It is believed that there was an aircraft repair center in the capital city of King Ravana. In Valmiki’s depiction King Ravana’sVimana resembled a huge peacock. The Vimana in Sinhala language means DhanduMonara which is known as flying peacock, and hence the name Gurulupota which means parts of birds.
Dunuvila
It is said that the dunuvila is the place from where lord rama fired the Brahmaasthram at King Ravana and killed him. Dhunu means arrow and Vila Means Lake. This place got its name because Lord Rama fired his arrow from this lake.
Laggala
The cartel of rocks behind the Dunuvilalake are called Laggala which means target rock. Laggala served as a sentry point to the King Ravana’s army and it was from this rock the first Glimpse of Lord Rama’s army was seen and reported to King Ravana. This hill geographically the highest part of the northern region of King Ravana’s city and on a clear day the north west side that is TalaiMannar could be seen. It is believed that King Ravana meditated upon Lord Shiva at ThiruKoneshwaram from this rock.

Polonnaruwa, which became the capital of Sri Lanka following the decline of Anuradhapura, was to witness the Sinhalese Buddhist civilization reaching to its greater heights. The vast irrigation network with reservoirs that look like natural in-land seas provided opportunities for sustained epic scales in rice cultivation, during the reign of king Parakramabahu the Great (1153-1186 A.D). At this time, Sri Lanka became known as the Granary of the Orient. As if the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura (437BC-845AD), didn't quench your thirst for other side of the world, here we are in Polonnaruwa, the second capital (846 AD-1302 AD) of Sri Lanka, which in its prime was protected by 6 km of strong encircling walls. Strategically it commanded all the crossings over the longest & largest river of the island, River Mahaweli. Polonnaruwa's extensive & well-preserved ruins offer a fascinating snapshot of ancient Sri Lanka, including some of the finest monuments.

The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the of and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King in third century AD. The park is a dry season feeding ground for the population dwelling in forests of , , and revenue of Rs. 10.7 millions in the six months ending in August 2009. Enroute to your destination, you can visit one of the most important tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. You can watch caretakers feed, bathe and help these gentle giants. You want walk with the herd to the nearby river to watch the elephants bathe and play around in water.
Colombo is the largest city and commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Located on the west coast, it is a busy and vibrant city with a mixture of modern and colonial impressions.
